Headingley Development Trust (HDT) is leading an ambitious community-led project to redevelop the former Headingley Primary School building into an Enterprise and Arts Centre (HEART). Leeds City Council provisionally agreed to transfer the school building to the Trust last year, and it is hoped HEART will be a community centre, café and enterprise centre housed within a newly eco-friendly conversion once they have raised the necessary £1million refurbishment funds. Part of the fundraising plan is the launch of an innovative community share issue - giving individuals and businesses the opportunity to become a shareholder in HEART. The target is £100,000 in shares and over £80,000 has already been achieved. Salvo's are proud supporters of this scheme and have bought £1,000 worth of shares. We want to support HDT in reaching their target by giving our customers the opportunity to hear more and consider becoming shareholders of this fantastic new project that will be a huge asset for Headingley and its community.
